    Marriage5 May 1831 William McKinney married Nancy Baker, daughter of Thomas Baker and Susannah Wiseman, on 5 May 1831 at Burke County, NC. The bondsmen were the bride's uncles Alexander Wiseman and Josiah Baker. The marriage ceremony was performed by another uncle, David D. Baker, justice of the peace.1 
    Deathb 1840 William McKinney died b 1840. There is no William McKinney in the 1840 census; it appears that Nancy and her McKinney daughters were living with her parents on the 1840 census. Nancy remarried around 1842; her daughters continued to live with her parents, as shown on the 1850 census.
