1860 Census1 Jun 1860 Penelope Bertrand Johnson appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of District 1, Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, enumerated 1 Jun 1860, in the household of her parents, Matthew Johnson and Mary "Polly" Fore. She was shown as Nelly, age 1, born KY.3
Deathb 1870 Penelope Bertrand Johnson died b 1870 at prob Pulaski County, KY. There is no record of Penelope "Nellie" Johnson's death. However, she was not with her mother on the 1870 census in Parker County TX, and would have been too young -- age 11 -- to have been with anyone else. It is therefore most likely that Penelope died before the family left KY for TX.
