    Hermann Eduard Geissler

    M, b. circa 1860, d. after 25 September 1929

Birthc 1860 Hermann Eduard Geissler was born c 1860 at Germany.
Marriage22 Jun 1879 He married Emma Louisa Graumüller, daughter of Johann Christoph (Gustav) Graumüller and Auguste Wilhelmina Zimmermann, on 22 Jun 1879 at Bad Köstritz, Germany. Hermann was shown in the church records as a bricklayer in Bad Köstritz; Emma's father was identified as a deacon of the church.1,2
Residence26 Jan 1925  On 26 Jan 1925, Hermann Eduard Geissler lived at 37 Laasenstrasse, Gera, Reuss, Germany.3
Deatha 25 Sep 1929 He died a 25 Sep 1929. It appears that Hermann Geissler was still alive in the fall of 1929, when his daughter Martha Geissler Benschura listed him as her German contact on the ship's manifest of the SS Bremen when she returned to the United States from Germany. It is certain that Hermann was still alive when his son Hugo Ernst Geissler emigrated to the United States, arriving in New York in February 1925. In addition, he and his wife Emma were both alive as of December 1925, when they sent a postcard to their son Hugo Ernst in Chicago. Hugo Ernst brought his family back to Germany in 1930 to visit relatives, but there do not appear to be any photographs of the older Geisslers from that visit.

This son is assigned to William on the basis of the 1840 census and an earlier 1830 Lowndes County census record for William M. Robertson. However, there is also a William M. Robertson in Hinds County in 1822-1825, which may also be our William (and might well not be the same William as on the Lowndes County census).1
