Marriage Jane Sophia Davenport married Henry M. Rabun. It is not at all certain that the Jane who appears as the wife of Henry Rabun on the 1860 census is Jane Sophia Davenport. However, the fact that Jane Rabun was born in Burke County and that there is no other Jane in Shooting Creek suggests at least grounds for further research. So too does the fact that this same Jane Rabun appears on the 1870 census immediately after David and Dorothy Baker Davenport.5

Birthc 1850 Margaret J. Davenport, daughter of Thomas C. S. Davenport and Amanda Triplett, was born c 1850 at NC. Davenport appears on the 1860 census as age 10. It is possible that the Margaret born in 1850 was given the name of an earlier child who died.1
