Willie Lee Shew, 54, 1625 3rd SE, died Thursday at the Lamar Medical Center. An employee at the Lamar Medical Center, Mr. Shew, was born Feb. 5, 1911, at Clardy, the son of Daniel H. and Flora Reeves Shew. He was married to the former Miss Cora Griffiths. Survivors are his widow; a son, Daniel Louis Shew, Paris; six daughters, Mrs. Bobby Baker, Mrs. Nelda Milling and Mrs. Johnny Todd, all of Paris; Mrs. Joyce Pounds, Houston; Mrs. Norma Biard, Abilene, and Mrs. Jack Rice, Fort Worth; his mother, Mrs. Flora Dean Briley, Joshua; a brother, Leon Shew, Paris, and 14 grandchildren. The funeral service is set for 3:30 pm today in the Gene Roden & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to be made in Evergreen Cemetery by Gene Roden & Sons.1

Services were held Thursday, 19 Dec., at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Solice officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Shew was born 12 Jul 1914, in Biardstown, a son of Dan Shew and Flora Reeves Shew. He attended Midway school and married Dollie McCool on 27 Aug 1938. He was a truck driver and a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Paris Horse and Rodeo Club. Surviving are his wife and several nieces and nephews.1
