"In the Name of God Amen.

I Phillip Shew of Wilkes County and State of North Carolina being weak in Body but of sound mind and Memory, do make and Ordain this to be my last Will and Testament. (Viz.) first I commit my Spirit to God that gave it, and my Body to the Grave to be Buried in a decent Christian like manner at the discretion of my friends, and as to my wordly Property both Real and Personal, I dispose of in the following manner. -- First I wish that my Just debts be paid out of my Estate, and my debts be collected by my Executors hereafter Named. -- Secondly I give to my Wife Susannah Shew my House and Land sufficient for her Support during her life, and all my Stock, Household and Kitchen furniture and all my Plantation and working tools of every kind during her Life. 3[d] I give unto my Daughter Hesse Shew one Bed and furniture, one cow & calf, half Dozen pewter plates one Bason and one Dish and a half Dozen knifes and forks. -- 4th I give unto my Wife Susannah Shew my Mill and Seat whereon it Stands during her Natural life. 5th I will at my Wifes death that my Mill be equally divided among my Sons. -- 6th My Will and desire is that at

my Wife's death my Stock and Household and Kitchen furniture be equally divided among all my Daughters. 7th I Nominate and appoint my friend Henry Lenderman and Simon Shew my Executors to this my last Will and Testament. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal Revoking all others and Ratifying and Confirming this to be my last Will and Testament this 4th day of January 1826.
